Expert knowledge and extreme humility set him head and shoulders above the rest. You only need look at the condition of his stock to see he knows what's what - beautiful examples of everything he sells and crystal clear water. Dry goods might look sparce if you ever go to the shop but that's only because he doesn't sell anything that doesn't work well. Tropicana Pets & Aquatics I went to this store with the promise of a selection of Malawi's. I was confrunted by probably the worst aquatic set-up I have ever seen. The fish looked unwell, nearly every tank has a snail infestation. The single 1ft tank containing 5 unidentifed, and undernourished Malawis. I walked straight out and would encourage you all to do the same. If you need some fish food or a pond liner then I am sure they are perfectly fine. The keeping of Tropical fish in good conditions leaves something to be desired! I am disapointed as I write this, but I have to tell it like it is. Ron. He know's what he is talking about. My husband and I visited Matlock Aquatic's just for a look round, we like to visit different fish place's. When we went and had a look round this place, Simon wasn't pushy, he didn't fill us full of rubbish. We didn't go out intentially to buy anything, but after talking to Simon, we came home with a full marine set up, for a lot less than what we thought it would be. He told us what we needed to know. He even told us to shop around, and don't just buy stock from one shop, but as he has always got what we wanted, why should we shop anywhere else. He is reliable, friendly, knowledgable, this guy knows his stuff unlike other places we visited. All the best Simon & keep up the good work! Why Talk to Simon before you go anywhere else, I recently re-started my old hobby of fishkeeping, after shopping round (everywhere) I finally found someone who actually cares about what he is doing! Matlock aquatics gave me good advice and had plenty of time to answer all of my questions, excellent range of products, new and some second hand tanks at bargain prices, I picked a 4x2x2 with pine cabinet, filter with medium, heater, pumps, lighting etc... at a fraction of the cost it would have been anywhere else, and delivered for the cost of fuel, AMAZING! The proof is in the pudding just go and look at Simons Marine setups! truly amazing, this guy knows what he is doing. Thanks for everything guys...
