E Kingfisheries Aquarium Ltd My 14 year old autistic son who is a fish fanatic chose to walk to this shop for fish food,as this was where he bought his £300 fish tank at christmas. My son came back home empty handed, saying that he was unable to buy the fish food as the man behind counter refused to sell it to him, saying that he may use the fish food as a weapon. has anyone heard of this? its outrageous. My son was very upset about this, and will no longer wants to go to this shop,so we will now be going elsewhere. This mans arrogance has not only lost a loyal customer but has deeply upset my son. julie May 19th 2011 Report this review Rating:1 Staff don't care at all about customers, also I have never seen so many dead fish in a one shop! David Tuller May 24th 2007 Report this review No rating for this comment? Why A few years ago this store had a valuable reputation. Aquacadabra very good prices on dry goods there ebay shop is worth a look. fish are a bit hit and miss tho with a lot of stock for a small shop. But big fish in small tanks is a bit off putting. nice selection of plecos from time to time but pricey. As above the pond selecton of dry goods is nice but fish are pricey This is all let down by the younger members of staff who dont seem to wanna be there. other members of staff arnt very forth coming with help apart from 1 that seems to hide upstairs lol staff need a wake up call maybe thay can become a 9-10 star shop if this happens but doubtfull it will tbh ian July 12th 2008 Report this review Rating:4 Poor customer service, staff aren't too friendly and the selection of stock is also poor. I bought an amazon sword from there then & it is still growing. I also bought fish over a year ago & they are still going strong. They will not sell you any fish unless they are satisfied that all is well in your aquarium. I would not go anywhere else for stock and I feel sorry for anyone who purchases elsewhere, only to be disappointed and possibly give up the hobby. They also have another store @ Birchwood, near Swanley. I am planning to build a pond and waterfall on my own and the assistance I got was top notch. They have a part time guy(available weekends) named Ashley who is very friendly and knowledgable about the work I needed to carry out. One piece of advise for waterfall builders, If you are looking for preformed waterfalls I have found this store the most reasonable. Each peice costs just £37.50 and gary managed to get me a 10% discount as I ordered in bulk(11 pieces). Those waterfalls looks very realistic and would highly recommend over the cheap plastic ones or the ridiculously expensive ones. Only downside about the store to me is the size. I have seen alot of fish with nasty looking bacterial infections, no qurantining seems to be occurring as fish show sign of transport shock among other things. When i pointed out the ill fish to a lad he said they would be treated later i visited the very nice millbrook garden centre, seperate business, and when i returned i saw a girl bagging up some of the ill tetras for a customer. This used to be such a good store will be looking elsewhere from now on. Douglas Digby Bell February 23rd 2010 Report this review Rating:1 This is probably the worse aquatics shop I have ever been to, dead fish, staff are rude to say the least, all in all a terrible experience. Terry July 20th 2008 Report this review Rating:5 Brought 6 koi from them 4 have died within two weeks took the fish to them , and all they did was to tell us what they died off ( fluke ) and what treatment we needed they did test the water for us but found no problem. Kevin & Denese August 3rd 2007 Report this review No rating for this comment? Why Actually, I thought this was a good shop but after a closer look at the fish (especially the glowing tetra tank: hemigrammus erythrozonus) a lot of them had fin rot. The products they sell are more expensive than in most other shops and there is very little choice of water treatment products (e.g. sera nitrivec, etc.) Fabian Kasper January 9th 2007 Report this review Rating:4 I visited this shop last weekend and left when the unhelpful shop assistant tried to get my selected fish out of the net with his hand! Well worth a visit, plenty of stock and good advice John Brennan March 24th 2011 Report this review Rating:10 a fairly good selection of tropicals but some big fish in very small tanks. The marine section is pitiful. A tank of emaciated yellow tangs that clearly were not eating, one tank had two large dead anemones. The marine species all seem to be juvenile fish that will grow to big for most aquariums, triggers, angels and tangs. Staff seem helpful but I don't think they should be keeping marines, expertise isn't there. The fur and feathers sections were better. Ken (Twicksisted from MFK) September 18th 2008 Report this review Rating:10 Under new management since last year (2007) and worth a revisit. Steve is the guy to see - noticable by his pony tail. Very helpful and although they don't have vast stocks of koi some of the ones that they had wewre very "buyable". The tropical fish looked like a good range, but we don't keep them at the moment so cannot judge. A range of other coldwater pond fish are avaiable, even gudgeon. Well stocked with kit, food, spares and aextensive array of pipe and fittings. We managed to get some odd sized converters from their stock.
