i use to work at leytonstone aquatics witch is now called your pet centre, and yes there are dead fish seen in the tanks to much but its not coz of they don't care for the fish, its because they don't just have fish they have reptiles, birds and mammals aswell there is alot of care needed to be put in to that shop and some times they for get to get some of the dead out, there are things i love about that shop they love the animals with a passion they are all friends and are very friendlly with the people they surve, and im sure you are thinking well you use to work there ofcourse your going to say that well i actully got the sack so you would think i should hate the place but that shop is like a family and if you walk into that shop with a smile and a friendlly attatude then they will help you and if you need something they will try and get it for you they shop may not be the most pretty shop but it has a heart of gold!  shaye neal January 27th 2009 Report this review

It might just be a coincidence but fish that I've bought from here have an alarming tendency to drop dead in fairly short order. Quite a few dead fish on display too. Perhaps not concentrating on fish is leading to some element of (unintentional I'm sure) neglect.  Andrew Stark March 3rd 2006 Report this review

I am wary of this store, it's my local shop but is a general pet shop (last I looked it even had kittens in a cage) and not a fish specialist. It has an interesting range of fish but you are advised to do your homework before buying as they don't always check that you know about the fish they are selling you.  Flash Wilson January 2nd 2006 Report this review

I travelled quite far to reach this shop and found that some comments about this shop is true, they took ages to serve me then made me feel like i never looked after fish, i ended up asking for some turbo snails in which they didn't have in stock! I've never seen a marine shop run out of these, i also asked for salt in which was very expensive which goes the same with all the other fish stock. They have a nice arowana and a massive catfish which is in a tank just barely enough to fit him in. They should concentrate on customer service and have more stock rather then have more display tanks. Whilst i was there the lady gave some freebies to a customer and little did they know i understood what they were saying as the guy shouted to her saying "You have too much money" I am a big spender when it comes to marines so i would rather go to Aquatic Design which is much better.  Philip November 24th 2009 Report this review

My favourite fish store in East London, well worth the journey. A great selection of fish (coldwater, tropical including cichlids, marine) and tanks and equipment. Friendly knowledgable staff that care about what they are selling and how it will be looked after; they are happy to offer advice. A lovely shop for a look round - my regular store. Never a dead fish in sight, and it's the only store I've never had a sick fish from. My only complaint is that there are three steps which are hard to navigate on crutches!  Flash Wilson January 2nd 2006 Report this review

A large floor space mostly taken up with equipment displays; fish are along the sides and there's a separate pond section round the back. Considering the size of store though there's a distinct lack of fish variety, you'll be all right if all you're looking for is tetras, gouramies or the like but there's hardly ever any ancistrus or more than one or two plecos. No doubt they do ok on equipment sales but I'd always go elsewhere for livestock.  Andrew Stark March 3rd 2006 Report this review

A reasonable range of fish and a good stock of plants. However the store is hard to navigate for a disabled user as the aisles are narrow.  Whilst the quality and range of fish and the prices are hard to fault, the staff are pretty awful IMO. Maybe I've been served by the wrong people every time I've been there, but they really didn't seem to have the slightest clue. I was told that sparkling gouramis were killifish, and was also sold an out of date and damaged iron test kit. I've kind of got used to many staff in LFS not knowing their stuff, often most of them are just there to bag fish up, but I found these to be worse than most. I've been here a few times now and if it wasn't for the range of fish I wouldn't go there at all. Just about recommended but really only on the strength of their stock, don't go there expecting advice - unless you are really lucky and chance upon the one person in the store that knows their stuff being free to help you.  Mikey boy April 29th 2008 Report this review

U can also purchase marine systems here as well and prices for both marine and tropical freshwater will not be matched by any other store.  I agree with other viewers and their comments on this store, indeed the staffs are rude and have no proper organisation skills in their daily business running neither the proper customer services training. We are one of their regulars for quite a long time, but as we went there today in hope to get some shoal fish we wish to top up for our collection, but they were buzzing around and seemingly busy so we asked one of the chap and see if he could serve us after he finish with his current customer, and he said he would come back to us after that, he then disaapeared into a room for a long time while my husband was start queuing up in order to get some help or assistance, but we met with same old excuses that we need to queue up or to wait until someone has become available. What unacceptable to us was that we found some of the staffs are floating around but not necessary serving or doing anything at the time, so we have no choice but to waited. Eventualy when the chap reemerged, he had immediately begun serving someone else instead of us so I got really wound up and upset as he has kept us waiting for half and hour for nothing and his reply was that he already start serving someone else. So I confronted and reminded him that we were there much before those people and that he had told us to wait for him. There is no apologies neither to acknowledge his mistake that he sould have serve us first since we had been waiting. Instead he pass us off to another guy who was already busy serving some others, so by this point we just walked off. It was a shame that their customer service has sunk to this low and that they don't seem to care or bother about losing their customers either. It is also true occassionaly we fould some dead or dying fish floating in their tanks with their pricy tags on; but even that it hasn't put us off until today. So after the incidence today, we swore not to return again as we both know that our money could be well spend elsewhere and not to get stress by this. After all they don't deserve any business if their customer service and the quality of their stock are not up to the standard. So why go there when there are plenty of the aquarium shops in and around London???  Miranda November 21st 2010 Report this review

They even ordered in some Rainbows I have been trying to get especially for me after some store didn't even know what they were. I find the freshwater and marine water fish variety large and love the fact they sell freshwater inverts. The plants are also good quality but could be cheaper.   Name: tazz Email: islam_tareque@yahoo.co.uk Subscribe to Very over priced marine fish, staff have high knowledge of marinf fish but seem to be very arrogant and not bothered about customer service, have waited for staff to catch the fish i wanted for over 20mins whilst staff members were on shop floor chatting about what music there in to! VERY patronising staff and management, rather buy my fish from manor aquatics, much healthier fish and better overall service.  tazz January 21st 2008 Report this review

A very nice shop which boosts lots of tropical fish and a good range of plants. Downstairs consists of many marine fish and a variety of tanks. Staff are very friendly and helpful and even make sure that your making the right purchase and that they are compatible. Highly recommend!  Michael Simons March 2nd 2006 Report this review
