Airdrie Aquatic Centre We dealt with Airdrie Aquatics for years, even before they moved to their current shop, and always got great advice and service. I don't have the space to list all the types of fish we had they were all healthy. Staff were always really friendly and I can't think of a single reason not to buy from them. Ultimate Aquatics Oooops hate to tell you guys but they have gone bust again!!! Both of these nice fish loving people walked away and left the poor fish in the tanks to their own fate. As of today 9th March I am still waiting for a refund! Still waiting for my refund 7 days after telephoning the shop and then confirming so there was no mistake. My money was taken from my account on the 5th JANUARY! The customer service I have received from yourselves has been abysmal. I ordered the items after I was assured by telephone all items were in stock. When I hadn't received delivery 2 weeks later I was told firstly it was the weather, then they were lost and finally they would be resent, at no time was I told that only the lights had been sent. It was only when I finally received the lights and telephoned once again that I was informed the skimmer and charcol couldn't have been sent and you hadn't had stock since before xmas! You chose to take payment on the date the order was placed, most companies don't charge your account until the items are dispatched. I was then told when I telephoned to cancel that these items had come into stock, that day and could be sent out the following morning. I shouldn't have been surprised that these items went ' missing' as well! and although I telephoned several times asking where the items were and was informed you would telephone me once you had spoke to Royal Mail that no telephone calls were received and once again I had to chase for an update. At no time since I placed my order have I received a telephone call or an email updating me of my order. It is now 2 months since you took the money from my account and considering you were so quick to take the money I'm surprised that a refund to Paypal couldn't have been done within 24hrs at the latest, not 7 days and counting. As I'm sure you are aware a refund can be made by Paypal immediately and Paypal email to confirm that my refund has been done. Please refund my money immediately, there is no reason for this delay or the shoddy customer service that you offer. I was a regular back in the 90's and this store was always well stocked with healthy fish..Also an abundence of advice behind the counter. Prices very good as well as lots of years experience as I know they have at least, been around since the early 90's. I say at least because thats when I started to go there. | Waterworld Aquatics 232, Paisley Rd West Glasgow Lanarkshire G51 1BU Tel: 0141 427 9552 Been in a few times at 1 point went only here, owner is full of info, the info is great but when you start to know about the fish and how it works you will find a lot of this info you have got is either rubbish or made up, does have some nice stock but don't ask about how they will be with otehr stock as teh answer is always the same, they will be fine which is a load of bull, I have bought a few things from here which I was told was safe in my Tank only to find out they are not, a long time ago I had to go buy a few emerald crabs to eat teh bubble algae problem I got from him, I was knew to fish keeping back then and was told teh bubble algae was something else and good for my rock. This shop does have some nice things and the owner will take time out for you but it really is luck if his info is any good, I wouldn't buy anything from this shop without getting some advice beforehand, you can find a large amount of forums online for true advice, reeflounge.com and reeftank.com, as I said nice stuff here but if you buy on owners advice expect to get your fingers burned. fishy October 10th 2010 Report this review Rating:3  I was in today, buying plants and asking advice on what to do with ailing goldfish - chap was nice and very helpful indeed. I once bought a flourescent tube from them and when i got it home I realised it was probably about 2 years old, blackened and had salt creep all over it (no wonder it was sellotaped at the ends). They have recently installed new tanks but as my mum says "you can spray shi* with perfume but it will always be shi*". Please please please go further down the road to either waterworld or m&r dogfish who will give you PROPER advice with healthy fish and are both very generous with their time. Started up my Tank again after being out the hobby for a year. Wullie spent about an hour explaining all the systems and set ups that existed with no pressure whatsoever to buy anything. Some of the reviews on this forum relate to coral reef Waterworld excels in customer care and service so big up this shop and put your rubbish reviews of coral reef in the correct box. Aquarium Design Centre I have just visited this shop for the first time and was midly pleased with the layout and selections, however, no one (all of whom were behind the counter) was interested in helping me. When i finally had to ask something i was meet with a short, 'naw'. No advice, no comment, no further enquiries. They really need to stop driving customers away with this shoddy public relations. William March 11th 2008 Report this review Rating:2 Heard good things from friends, so went to check it out. Nice clean shop. Fish looked fine. Lots of different cichlids. However the people that worked there were pretty unhelpful. Mostly just looked at me like I was an idiot when I asked about quarentine, and what the fish where eating etc. Seem too wrapped up in talking to each other than helping the customers. Bought few livebeares (guppies and swords) which looked fantastic, dead within few hours. Thought it was my tank, but tests etc. came back fine. So bought some more fish few weeks later, silver sharks and parrot fish (wee sis loves them) again these died within a few hours, they were in a seperate tank so pretty sure the shop is at fault and not me. The guys that work there didnt want to know. Dissappointed. Display tanks are really impressive. He has one Tanganyikan, one Malawi and one Amazon. If what you're looking for is not in stock, he'll let you know if it's possible to get it. Very reasonably priced. I'd say it's the best shop in Strathclyde (and I've been round them all!).
